  • Overview

    Summary: Oversee and coordinate the weld fabrication of assigned projects in accordance with production schedules for UE Manufacturing

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.

     

    • Coordinate the projects on the floor and verify that projects are built in accordance with the design specifications and packaging processes.
    • Receives all project materials from the warehouse and ensure all parts match the BOM.
    • Advise Weld Supervisor when supplies are running low or tools/equipment need to be repaired.
    • Ensure the overall success of the team by offering constant training, verifying proper resources are available and answering production staff questions.
    • Provide updates and constant communication to Weld Supervisor about project progress.
    • Evaluate the workmanship of the delivered product to guarantee the product meets the customer requirements.
    • Observes safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
    • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in progression United or industry related assignment is preferred.
    • A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience leading and coordinating production projects is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of ASME Standards.
    • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.  
    • Ability to respond to technical questions from production staff.
    • Ability to utilize hand and power tools and skills to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete a job.

    • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.  Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
    • Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels).
    • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands and fingers. 
    • Requires crawling and working in narrow spaces.
    • Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, screwdrivers and impact tools.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
    • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
    • Exposed to cold, heat, noise mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
    • Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.
    • Will be required to work at a minimum height of four feet off of the ground.
